So, I decided to tackle 3 photo sessions in a 6 hour span... and let me tell ya, it was tough. But SO worth it. I want to get real with y'all, because I assume that photographers in my position probably feel very similar as I do.
I'm in the Charleston area where there are SO many talented photographers and I feel very overwhelmed sometimes. My first thought was that I would not be able to shoot a bunch of sessions just because of how saturated the market is. Then I began to discover how to differentiate myself from the other amazing photographers: lifestyle shoots. I have talked so much about lifestyle #photography but it's true, I want to capture different images that people will cherish forever.

Back to my 3 sessions... each were different, in different locations, with different subjects. My first session was a beautiful family session in Downtown Charleston. A young couple and their 8 month baby boy, Liam, along with her parents and brother. Not to mention it was almost 90 degrees in Charleston, SC!!! Talk about hot! But, I was able to shake the nerves I had and truly make my clients feel the most
comfortable in front of the camera. Especially with a little baby, they can sometimes be difficult during a longer session, I kept the session moving and his parents were a big help behind the camera to get that precious boy to smile!

The next session was with my dear friends, Jackson and Jeanna. They are expecting their first child, Forrest Lane, in a matter of WEEKS! These two have such a special story behind their precious little boy and I am over the moon excited for these two to be parents!
Their #maternity session was tucked away in the infamous White Point Gardens and I absolutely loved it. It can sometimes be difficult photographing people that you know, but as long as you keep it light-hearted and fun for them, it makes it a lot easier. I also enjoy doubling the photo session as extended time to get to make sweet friends feel so loved and beautiful during a wonderful time in their lives.

The final session was a #couplesession on Sullivan's Island! I have been wanting to do a beach session in Charleston since I moved down here and boy did this one exceed my expectations! I have known Christina and Nathan for a few years, since our husbands both played football at Charleston Southern. After I posted about needing some Charleston area couples to help build my portfolio (which is a great thing for new photographers), Christina reached out to me!
These two were naturals in front of the camera and I seriously was inspired by their love! Almost every photo I took, Nathan was staring at Christina with the biggest smile ever. They perfected all of the spin and pick her up poses (as you can see pictured!!). They have been married for over 4 years and I know their love and bond is so pure. They really made this
session for me SO easy, which in turn, made it effortless for them. I was able to capture one of my favorite pictures ever from this shoot and I am so grateful for that.
This day was absolutely tiring, emotionally and physically draining, and I continued to fear that I would get stuck having them pose the same way in every session. Luckily, I had some amazing subjects that I would photograph every day if I could :) They helped me build my portfolio, but I helped give them memories that will last forever, and that is the most amazing feeling ever.
