Jennifer messaged me a while back to do a shoot of her in workout clothes that one of her friends was sending to her. This was a completely new type of session to me, but it was also new for her as well.
Fast forward to the session... we both discussed how this was a first for us and that stepping out of your comfort zone is such a GOOD thing! I immediately pulled up some Pinterest inspired photos to show her my thoughts for the session and it put her at ease.

Knowing that she didn't have to be a fitness expert to rock her outfit made her more confident. So, we shot simple poses and it progressed into breaking down every wall that was up in the first place.
I mean let's be honest... she could totally be a fitness model! Having your model/subject confident in themselves makes your job as the photographer a heck of a lot easier.
We turned off the harsh lights in the weight room and let the natural light truly shine! Placing Jennifer in this windowed-corner next to the kettle bells shows great depth, brings in natural lighting and balances the black in the image with her wardrobe.
We made this high school weight room look like a fitness magazine shot.
She also had no idea that I would push her today into a full work out. ;) We grabbed the heaviest medicine balls, attempted to lift some tires and other props that would make me seem like the most hardcore fitness coach there ever was! She handled it all with ease. Here are some of my favorites from this session and I cannot wait to do more fitness photoshoots in the future!

So much fun and SO much beauty!! Jennifer is wearing DriTech brand Sweat < Less! Check them out on Instagram and Facebook.
Message me if you're interested in working out and getting portraits done;) For real, so grateful for this opportunity and being able to expand my portfolio even more!
